ABOUT
Zoey Simpson, a Tuscaloosa native, is a senior at the University of Alabama with a double major in studio art and apparel design. As an artist with extensive experience in a variety of mixed media, Zoey is able to incorporate her art background in to her passion for fashion design in unique ways, both through her award winning illustrations and her fashion creations. Seeking inspiration and fashion illustration/design experience beyond her current studies, Zoey has had the privilege to study abroad at the Paris College of Art and Central Saint Martins in London. She also has received training in couture hand embroidery and beading with Hand & Lock in New York City. Through her various studies in art history, Zoey has developed a keen interest and appreciation for the Abstract Expressionist and Surrealist movements, and has enjoyed incorporating these influences in to her designs. Zoey’s design philosophy comes from an abstract and personal approach, defined by emotions and the human psyche. Her designs are creative and modern, yet minimal and timeless. She loves fabric manipulation, experimenting with color and a variety of media, with a current focus on ready to wear silhouettes with couture details.
